For the Spring 2023 elections, there will be four open positions on the District 113 Board of Education. The District 113 Caucus is seeking delegates from throughout the district to meet (virtually) this fall, vet the candidates for these open positions and ultimately endorse those candidates we collectively find to be most qualified. As a member of the caucus representing all stakeholders, you will help the community make better informed decisions at the ballot box.
Your School District Needs You.
Township High School District 113 (“District 113”) serves about 3,600 students across both Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools, serving the communities of Highland Park, Deerfield, Highwood, Bannockburn, and Riverwoods.
District 113 is governed by a seven-member school board. The Board’s responsibilities include hiring and evaluating the performance of the Superintendent and managing all policies that support and govern the school district. The Board also plays an integral role in defining the district’s long-term goals.
School board members are elected every two years to serve four-year terms. For the election taking place April 4, 2023, four of the seven board seats are up for election.
The district needs qualified candidates to fill these open Board positions. If you are interested in running for the Board, application packets are available in the Candidate Services portion of the Lake County IL website. For more information about Board duties, click here. Please email the 113 Caucus at [email protected] to let us know that you are running, so you can be involved in the caucus endorsement process.

- Must attend both of the meetings on November 16 and 17, 2022, to interview and endorse Board candidates. Any caucus delegates who are unable to attend the entire set of interviews will be unable to participate in the endorsement voting process.
In order to qualify to be considered to serve on the District 113 caucus, members must:
